The list of platforms (operating systems and databases) supported by PROIV is regularly reviewed. Subject to customer demand, new platforms may be added to the list, and old or obsolete platforms may be end-of-lifed.
When a supplier of a supported platform releases a new version of their technology, PROIV will:
Decide whether to support the new release.
Decide if it warrants a full QA test before it will be supported. In general, QA tests will be required for all but minor releases.
Where necessary make product changes to support the new release.
Conduct QA test (where required).
Announce support for new version.
Note that PROIV will only validate new versions of a supported platform or database once they have been production released by the supplier and are deemed stable by PROIV. Inevitably, there will be a delay between a supplier production releasing a new version and PROIV announcing support for it.
When a supplier of a supported platform withdraws a version of their technology from their normal support service, PROIV will also stop supporting that version. In general, PROIV's policy is to follow suppliers' policies where possible, i.e. to support those platform versions that are fully supported by the supplier.
