PROIV is a highly portable application development environment. Developers can use it to deliver a single application on their choice of database across a broad range of hardware platforms, from PC through Unix to Windows and large mainframes.

PROIV allows you to create power user interfaces using the PROIV Client (a 32-bit Windows program) and lightweight browser interfaces using PROIV Active Web. The PROIV Gateway and PROIV Web Services allow other applications to easily integrate with PROIV. Whichever front-end is used, the same PROIV back-end business rules are used, giving maximum return on investment.

PROIV's Multilingual feature enables developers to easily migrate a finished PROIV application from an original base language to one or more other languages, including languages which require multi-byte representation (for example, Chinese.)

PROIV's deployment model makes customer applications presentation-independent, platform-independent and database-independent.
