PROIV Version 5 reaches the end of its normal supported life on 31st December 2007

Since Northgate Information Solutions launched PROIV Version 6 in September 2006, many PROIV developers and users have seen the benefits and upgraded. At the time, it was announced that Version 5.x would be end-of-lifed at the end of 2007 and Northgate is taking this opportunity to remind you of this product milestone.

Northgate understands that some developers are still using Version 5.x and applications created with it. Version 5.x will continue to be supported until 31st December 2007. At that point, normal support for all Version 5.x products will be frozen, as will support for some little-used platforms and databases.

Upgrade to Version 6 well before the end-of-life deadline falls

To be sure of a smooth transition from Version 5 to the enhanced capabilities of PROIV Version 6, you may wish to start thinking about upgrading now. The sooner you upgrade, the earlier you can make the most of the new and improved features within PROIV Version 6.

Northgate will offer prior version support for 12 months on Version 5.x, subject to a premium support fee. This is payable in addition to the standard annual maintenance charges. So, from a technical and financial point of view, it makes sense to upgrade.
